Offset Digital Pins
Offset digital pins are the perfect choice for designs requiring fine lines or a specific color. The printing process is the only method that allows for photographs or paintings to be on a pin as well. So if you're looking to incorporate a team photo or company logo as part of your pin design, then offset digital is the way to go! To make the pins, we first create a mold based on the outline of your design. We use the mold to cut sheets of metal into the shape of your pin using the mold as a guide. The metal is 0.8mm thick, the same thickness as photo etched pins. There are no raised or recessed areas because there is no stamping or etching involved. The pins have a flat surface which is ready for printing.
The major difference of this style compared to other styles is the special printing method which prints the image directly onto the surface of the pin using the latest printing technology. A clear epoxy coating is required to seal the image to the pin. Unlike the other two styles where the epoxy coating is optional, offset digital pins must have the coating. Otherwise the image won't stick to the pin. The epoxy not only helps secure the image on the pin, it also adds a layer of shine which makes the pin even more eye-catching.
The coating is great for protecting against scratches and dents as well. While storing the pins in a safe place is always a good idea, they can still rub against each other. The epoxy coating ensures the image stays sharp for years to come! With offset digital pins, you can have any design or image you want on your pins, so let your imagination run wild.
